Remy — French form of the Latin name Remigius, which was derived from Latin remigis "oarsman". Saint Rémy was a 5th-century bishop who converted and baptized Clovis, king of the Franks.
Saintly namesake: Rémy Isoré was a French priest and missionary martyred in China in 1900. He is remembered for his faith and dedication during the Boxer Rebellion. (July 9 · 19th century)
