Enoch from the Hebrew name חֲנוֹך (Chanokh) meaning "dedicated". In Genesis in the Old Testament this is the name of both the son of Cain and the father of Methuselah, who was the supposed author of the apocryphal Books of Enoch.
Biblical namesake: Enoch, the son of Jared, is remembered for his close relationship with God and for being taken up to heaven without dying, as described in Genesis. (Genesis · Genesis 5:18-24)
